The Medical Educator Consortium, Inc. in accordance with the Joint Accreditation Criteria and the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) Standards for Integrity and Independence in Accredited Continuing Education, has implemented a process where everyone who is in a position to control the content of a CE activity has disclosed to us all financial relationships with any Ineligible company that you have had over the past 24 months. The ACCME defines an ineligible company as any entity whose primary business is producing, marketing, selling, re-selling, or distributing healthcare products used by or on patients. There is no minimum financial threshold; you must disclose regardless of whether you view the financial relationships as relevant to the education. MEC has implemented a mechanism to identify, mitigate and disclose relevant financial relationships prior to the education activity being delivered to learners.

The ACCME Standards for Integrity and Independence in Accredited Continuing Education require that we disqualify individuals who refuse to provide this information from involvement in the planning and implementation of accredited continuing education.
